Because most guitar pickups have a much lower output than the Peterman pickup (due to design reasons) , you will find that most Acoustic Guitar Amp manufacturers make their input very High to compensate for the poor signal strength in most pickups. This can cause the Peterman pickup to OVERDRIVE the input circuitry on these amp, causing High Frequency Distortion followed by howling feedback and a Harsh metalic sound, that is hyper sensitive to finger noise and body movement.

To solve this problem and get the perfect input level so you can Crank up your amp and get a nice Warm Acoustic Sound, you need to reduce the output/input levels. This is acheived by a simple volume control, that is built into the Attenuator.

NOTE: The resistor values inside this Volume controll are specifically designed for the Peterman Pickup, and may not function correctly on other pickups. This attenuator should never be used with an active pickup.

• The attenuator, is intended for players who use Acoustic Guitar amps with "no line input control" . and are finding that their pickup feedsback at very low levels.
• If your amp only has Volume control and no trim or line input, and you find you are getting feedback with the volume set to 1 or 2, then this is what you need.
• It is adjustable and can be used from full to none signal.
• It is reccomended for all players playing through Acoustic style Amps.
• It is not required for players who use a Mixing desk or PA for performance or recording!
